Republican bill puts big banks and Wall Street ahead of Upstate families

PAINTED POST, N.Y. – Congressional candidate Rick Gallant issued the following statement on the Financial CHOICE Act (H.R. 10), which removes significant protections from the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act:

“The House Republican Financial CHOICE Act is a blank check for Wall Street and big banks—letting them engage in the same predatory practices that led to economic collapse just ten years ago. Tom Reed's vote for this bill shows that he puts the interests of big banks and Wall Street ahead of the people of this district. We need a representative who will fight for Upstate families and Main Street, not Wall Street.”
